Also known as the Atlantic blue crab and the Chesapeake blue crab, the blue crab is common species of crab found throughout the western Atlantic Ocean and the Gulf of Mexico. As their name suggests, they can easily be identified by their vibrant blue color.

Scientific Name: Callinectes sapidus

Characteristics: Blue crabs are opportunistic hunters, and have been known to eat anything they can get their claws on. Don’t worry, this beautifully hand painted and professionally designed blue crab is a bit small to consider you as its next meal!

Size and Color: Blue crabs have predominantly cerulean limbs, although their carapace is a dark green color in certain sections. 5 inches long and 7 inches wide, this figurine is about as wide as a dollar bill and as long as a 16 oz. water bottle on its side.

WASHING INSTRUCTIONS:

Machine wash separately in cold water on a gentle cycle. Tumble dry separately on low heat. Add QE Home Wool Dryer Balls to reduce wrinkles and increases drying efficiency. Touch up with a low heat iron as needed. Do not bleach or dry clean.
